Mountbatten Court is a nine unit development in Hanwell, West London.

Obtaining full planning consent in late 2017, the project started on site in late summer 2018, and was completed in late 2020. The long, thin nature of the site posed the design team the question, of how best to provide density to the site, while also forming a community. The answer was to orientate the development perpendicular to the Uxbridge Road, forming a Mews development. Massing was softened through stepping, terraces and balconies. An internal courtyard mediates between the two blocks, forming a space where informal meetings can take place. Units range between 55m2 and 100m2, one and two bedroom, single floor and duplex. The complexity of a thin site, KA-A help the developer Mountbatten Homes design a concrete frame from the rear block to front block, creating supporting details to minimise site deliveries. The simple palette of light stone, light brick and coordinated window colours has made this a beach in Hanwell and the Uxbridge Road.  KAA  acted as lead consultants from feasibility, pre-application, through planning, tender and construction utilising a traditional construction contract.
